Entry #2. Welcome to the First Land

I think anyone ever diving headfirst in some of fictional worlds, and here I wanna introduce one of my favorites. Welcome to the Runterra, or rather, welcome to the Ionia, the far continent of magic, nature, spiritual and demons. So, take your seats, let me be your faithful servant and take you to tour of the First Land.

Firstly I think will be good explain the setting, Ionia - is place there the nature magic lives in peace with people by keeping balance in every aspect of their lives. For example you can't just cut the tree, you need to plant and grow a new one, or the powers of forest will make you sorry for it. It sounds really good, isn't it? But sometimes wish of keeping balance in everything works against people too. For example, the warriors, who hunt for the demons, should exorcise them, because if dead souls come to the world of the living it destroys the balance, even if that demon didn't done anything bad. But no matter what, anyone in Ionia can not kill the living person, no matter how much damage it made. At least, it's how they lived a hundreds, but then the military nation, with called Noxus, came to their territory with the intention of subjugating it. The people of Ionia were able to win this batle, but only after many years of fight and very high price of countless deads and the question that worried everyone: “Why did fate allow someone to violate for so long the order that they so zealously defended? Have they been deceived all these years?”.

With actually doesn't really try, because there is many stories, how nature had fight with people of Ionia. For example, there it was not an isolated event that viliges, with were captured by Noxians just "stand up" and switch their place, because usually any buildings there is the rooms created by the trees themselves, which grew and intertwined in such a way as to create a place for people to live or use for regural living.

But the question about is it really right, to keep balance no matter what became not just with the Noxians millitary ships. Ones the all the people were became afraid by the news of the madness soul, who terrorized villages by lifting after itself not just a only bloody mess, the creature left behind the mutilated bodies of people, covered with the illusion of gold, strewn with rose petals, as if considering the massacre to be its work of art.
People called him a Golden Demon, and started to shake just from the mention of his name. So one of the most respected warriors, master Kusho (Kinkou Order), with two of his students became hunt to this demonic creature. Skipping the all drama, in the result we understand what the Colden Demon is not a demon at all, he was an ordinary man with magical abilities, and that plunges both young guys into deep shock. It simply didn’t fit in their heads that a simple person, a person, not a demon, not possessed, not a beast, but a living person is capable of so neglecting the balance and harming so hard other people. One of boys wanted to kill him as fast as he can, but master immediately stopped him, telling that they can not ruin the balance, causing the guy to doubt whether it is right to follow this balance at all.

It's just a very short version of all great stories and things that Ionia have in itself, and why I like it so much. Because if on the first view it's place of peace and balance, but in reality it is also a place for doubts, broken human destinies, ambiguities and disgusting people. And it's really beautiful in its imperfection on my think. Ionia also just one of regions of the world of Runeterra, so if you found this post interesting, you can found more great thinks about this world on links below.

And now, accept my thanks for your attention and allow your faithful servant to take his leave.
