Entry #10: The Far Harsh Frozen Land

Freijord isn't a friendly place at all, so the great welcome is not really something that you, my dear travelers, should wait for from the Harsh Frozen Land. But we already are pretty experienced explorers, aren't we? So let's take a closer look at one of the most desert places of the Freijord. Welcome to the Howling Abyss.

Starting from the probably most atmospheric moment of our excursion, let's stand for the second on this gorgeous bridge, and listen. This place is named a Howling Abyss not only for the catchphrase, here, below our feet, is a really deep abyss, that deep that it literally howls as the wind blows. The god-blacksmith Ornn bound the bridge by request of the three legendary sisters, Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra, to fight the alliances, also known as Watchers. After the creature's defeat and laying somewhere on the bottom of the abyss, Lissandra created a magic seal on the bridge, turning it into a bolt that keeps the creatures inside.

But time spares no one, the bridge is no more than tough, how it was a time ago, then Ornn just created it. To keep Watchers locked up,
a citadel of Frost Guards was created, so they could oversee creatures' sleep, every year sending the brave warriors descend into the depths of the Howling Abyss. So don't be surprised, that if we meet someone while this walk, the first thing we will hear from that person is "Are you the hunter, or the prey?".

That was a pretty cool trip, wasn't it, haha? Of course, the Howling Abyss still has so much unknown about itself, and maybe, next time when we get here the excursion going to take a whole hour with the lunch break, but of well, I am afraid right now this is most of that we are know about this mystical place. Anyway, that is not a point to be sad about, there are still so many places to be. I hope no one going to be stuck in the ice here, so after everyone gets rest, we can continue our journey, and meet again in the absolutely new universe.

But if you still want to dive deeper into the secrets of the abyss and culture of inhospitable Freijord, here are some useful resources for you:
